Make sure you have enough sundries, papers, plastics to cover the areas that are not to be painted.
Cover all floor surfaces using papers and tapes.
Properly cover the carpets with plastic and protector film
Mask off the entire house in all the areas that you do not want to get paint on such as floors, handrails, bookshelves, fireplace, furniture, etc.
Create plastic barriers to protect the other areas of the house from paint over spraying and to keep away dust from entering into those areas.
Sand the walls to smoothen the surface.
Cover the holes, fix the cracks and other imperfections, and fill all the gaps in trims, doors, frames using the caulk gun.
Cover all the windows with plastic.
Properly clean and remove dust in all the areas to get ready for the next process which is the painting.
